Christmas Spirit

What gives you Christmas Spirit, is it just a yearly thing?

Do you have to hear the carols, that the choirs love to sing?

Is it the laughter of the children, wishing for their favorite toy,

Or is it giving gifts to others, to see their happiness and joy?

Is it the food we seem to feast on, as we stuff ourselves too much?

Is it the colors of the lights, or themistletoe and such?

Is it the kindness shown to strangers, the reaching out to those in need?

Is it the ringing of the church bells, or the trees adorned with beads?

Is it visits from your family, Is it neighbors coming by?

Is it the bustle of the shoppers looking for that special buy?

Is it snow or winter weather, seeking shelter from the cold,

Or putting on your favorite sweater, that feeling never gets too old?

Or maybe it is none of these, but just a chance to show your love,

To celebrate the birth of Christ, the precious gift from up above.

But whatever gives you spirit, don’t be afraid to share.

‘Cause it seems a lot of people, don’t reallyseem to care.

So whether it’s sayingMerry Christmas, or just a simple smile,

To someone looking for a lift, a step can be longer than a mile.

So please pass on your spirit, give the world the gift of you,

Because sharing love and feelings is the best thing you can do.
