A Choice

After all the mistakes I have made with past relationships I have made a choice not to date or pursue marriage on my own power.

The Bible says " Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life." (Proverbs 4:18-23 NIV)
I tried to do things on my own and it has gotten me into some real fixes and it has hurt not only myself but also to others around me and I believe it has hampered my walk with the Lord very much.

But the cool thing is that God is a God of 2nd chances. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9 NIV) It also says in the Bible,"For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him;" (Psalms 103:11-13 NIV)

So I have made a choice to gaurd my heart and trust God. I pray that one day God will grace me with a helpmeet that will feel the same way about being a Christian and be willing to hold me accountable about things and allow God to work his own timing out with things.
